In 1986, Jim Musselman—a recent Ferris State graduate and young master plumber— started Great Lakes Plumbing & Heating (GLPH) in the garage at his home in Levering. Today GLPH is a full-service HVAC & Plumbing contractor with almost forty employees, a large fleet of trucks and offices and warehouse facilities that are easily accessible from all across northern Michigan.

In the early years, as it is today, it was GLPH’s people and the company’s dedication to customer service that set us apart from others in the plumbing and heating field. GLPH’s remarkable growth and enviable reputation are the direct results of dedicated employees and northern Michigan homeowners, builders and general contractors counting on us for quality products, outstanding service and guaranteed customer satisfaction. Our customers know that when the job has to be done right the first time, their first call is to Great Lakes Plumbing & Heating.

We are thankful for our employees and customers, and pleased that we are able to share our success with the communities we serve. GLPH is an active participant in  Habitat for Humanity and three Chambers of Commerce in our service area. We also support local school sports activities, Little League baseball, regional arts and cultural programs and numerous community services. It is our duty and our pleasure to do so.
